The Last of Us: Episode 5 will be released sooner than expected

Good news for fans of the adaptation of The Last of Us. HBO decided to bring forward the broadcast of the fifth episode by two days to avoid coinciding with the Super Bowl, the most watched sporting event of the year in the United States.

A confirmed success

Scheduled to be broadcast on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday evening February 12 in the United States, and Monday morning February 13 on Amazon Prime Video in France, episode 5 (entitled Endure and Survive) will finally be available from Friday evening in America, and from Saturday morning at home. We say thank you to American football!

The Last of Us confirms its (very) great success. After having signed the best start of an HBO drama series in 12 years, the adaptation has only garnered viewers over the weeks, recording a rise of 22% between the 1st and 2nd episodes, and 12 % between the 2nd and the 3rd episode. HBO is also delighted with the success of the series, renewing it for a second season.

This adaptation of the famous eponymous video game released in 2013 on Playstation is signed Neil Druckmann (co-creator of the original game) and Craig Mazin, screenwriter of the series Chernobyl. It depicts a near, post-apocalyptic future, where an epidemic caused by a fungus has ravaged civilization, turning humans into violent “infected”. Joel, a disillusioned man, will accept a perilous mission: to take young Ellie across the United States to a safe place.

Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game Of Thrones) hold the main roles of the series, which has nine episodes broadcast at the rate of one per week. Available in the United States and several countries around the world on HBO and the HBO Max streaming platform, The Last of Us is broadcast on Amazon Prime Video in France.
