The Last of Us: For the writer of the TV series, the Naughty Dog game has the best story ever told in a game

Promoting the series The Last of Us is currently in full swing and is its screenwriter and co-creator Craig Mazin which makes the rounds of the various newspapers to praise the merits of the show. The interested party gave an interview to Empire in which he returns to the basic game, stating that the title of Naughty Dog tells neither more nor less than the best story ever told in a video game. Just that.

calm down sir

Mazin thus explains to us why he thinks that The Last of Us is very different from other games, and it goes through a more down-to-earth narrative, grounded in reality:

It’s a quick fix: this is the greatest story ever told in video games. The characters are nothing special, they are just people among others. And that, in and of itself, is remarkably rare in games. The fact that they kept the narrative so grounded in reality and really made you feel that – I had never experienced anything like it, and I’ve been playing video games since 1977. »

We really want to tell Mazin that he should probably broaden his video game horizon a bit before deciding on this (even if we won’t contradict the fact that the story of The Last of Us is very successful), but tastes and colors eh.

As a reminder, the series The Last of Us will begin on January 15, 2023 but it still does not have an official broadcaster in France, which raises fears that it could be released late with us…
