The Last of Us Part I: Discover the nice nod to one of the most popular series in the world

If there is one series that has stood out both for its originality and for its very particular humor, it is The Office, produced by Steve Carell himself and Greg Daniels. At the origin of dozens of memes on the internet, you must have seen these famous GIFs coming straight from the comedy series, whether on Twitter, Facebook or other social networks.

And on the occasion of the release of The Last of Us Part I on Sony’s next-gen console, namely the PS5, a player realized that the game paid some homage to itBut how ?

When Joel meets The Office

Yes, you read that right, but The Last of Us Part I seems to pay homage to The Office series. Available on PS5 since September 2, Naughty Dog’s remake has managed to win the hearts of players despite some criticism, and some of them, including one in particular, have indeed discovered a vibrant tribute to Steve Carell’s series.

As he plays with the character of Joel, the latter finds himself in a funny office strongly resembling that of the seriesthe place being obviously empty and dilapidated due to the apocalyptic context.

Mere coincidence or real easter egg, although this desk looks like we might find all over the USA, this one nevertheless looks exactly like the one in the series. We find there indeed the office of Pam facing the entrance, the mythical office of Michael Scott right next to it as well as that of Dwight, near the meeting room. True homage or simple coincidence, the first solution would really not be surprising on the part of Naughty Dog.

A new license in sight?

While The Last of Us Part I has just been released on PS5, players, in addition to having discovered this easter egg referring to The Office, also think they have found new clues as to the studio’s next game or license. .

Indeed, several posters that are in a building echo what could be a new Fantasy-focused IP, far from what we know with Naughty Dog. On the latter, we mainly see an Elf. Real clue or simple theory of players? We have to take all of this with a grain of salt, even though there seems to be a huge poster referencing this same Elf in The Last of Us: Part II.

Sony and Naughty Dog have launched a new batch of copies of the Firefly Editions of Last of Us: Part 1, but these sold out in minutes and are already being resold online for eye-watering sums.
