“After two years of intercontinental collaboration, we are delighted to announce a special offer with The Digital Spirits Project. We have worked closely with their highly skilled and talented team to develop Moth & Wolfa Blended Scotch Whiskey in limited edition inspired by The Last of Us Part II.” announces Naughty Dog via a press release on their website.

Chivas Brothers, Scotch whiskey branch of the French beverage group Pernod Ricard, has teamed up with Naughty Dog to offer a whiskey to fans of The Last of Us, and video games in general. Moth & Wolf is a mix that has been put in barrels in 2013before being bottled in 2022part of Chivas Brothers’ Digital Spirits project, which aims to open up Scotch whiskey to a new generation of whiskey lovers through film, TV and games.

made by fans

The goal of Digital Spirits, according to Kevin Balmforth of Chivas, is to “get closer to what excites fans”, creating spirits influenced by modern forms of entertainment like video gaming. Balmforth is the brewmaster at the distillery who created Moth & Wolf, and describes himself as having been a “big gamer”.

“I played The Last of Us until the end,” Balmforth tells Digital Trends. “I’m a big fan. It was a real collaboration between us and Naughty Dog. We worked on a lot of concepts, to see what would work for the packaging [du whisky] and the liquid itself, how the flavors would work.”

Moth & Wolf will be available for pre-order on the official website of Digital Spirits on a date not yet specified. Its price has not been announced, but Digital Spirits’ previous whiskey, Topher Brophy’s Barrelhound, is listed on its website at $45 a bottle.

The rumor has been circulating since last night on the networks and according to often well-informed “insiders”, it is well and truly proven: after the technical remake of The Last of Us released a few weeks ago, Horizon Zero Dawn will have the entitled to its own PS5 remaster to everyone’s surprise.
