Series The Last of Us will not return to the small screen before 2025. This is evidenced in particular by the very recent casting announcement for a central character in season 2.
When the series adaptation of the successful video game was announced The Last of Us, many fans were clamoring for the casting of Kaitlyn Dever in the role of Ellie. If it is ultimately Bella Ramsey, deemed more suitable, because younger by the production, Kaitlyn Dever will soon be able to take her revenge.
An expected and central casting
The actress of No One Will Save You was officially recruited by Max’s teams to play Abby. Players know that this is an essential choice, since she is none other than Ellie’s main opponent in The Last of Us Part II. For newcomers, she is described as a talented soldier, whose Manichean view of the world is tested in her quest for revenge for those she loves.
Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann spoke in an attached statement: “ Our casting process for season two has been the same as season one: we’re looking for world-class actors who embody the soul of the characters in the source material. A return in 2025 for The Last of Us
The production of season 2 of The Last of Us should start next spring. The show will therefore be back on Max in 2025. Remember that the streaming platform bringing together the HBO series should arrive in France in the coming months.
The series has already received several awards, including recently an award for actor Nick Offerman for his performance in the famous episode 3. On the video game side, Naughty Dog recently canceled its multiplayer project around the license.
