Season 2 of The Last of Us has found its Dina
The cast of The Last of Us series is growing. Dropped from the role of Ellie in the abandoned film, Kaitlyn Dever (unbelievable, Booksmart…) will finally play the role of her sworn enemy in season 2: Abby. She was quickly joined by Young Mazino, known for his role in the excellent Netflix series Relentless, who will be responsible for making Jesse even more sympathetic to us than he was in the game. It will therefore not be Cascina Caradonna, who lent her features to Ellie’s lover in the game, but Isabela Merced who will play the role.
The 22-year-old young actress is best known for her roles in the live-action film Dora the Explorer or Transformers: The Last Knight. She will return to the big screen this year with Madame Web, in which she will play Anya Corazon. An obvious choice according to Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin, showrunners of the series The Last of Us. Dina is warm, bright, wild, funny, moral, dangerous and immediately adorable. Just like the choice of Young Mazino in Jesse, that of Isabela Merced seems to be unanimous, well almost. The announcement was therefore particularly well received by the community, with many welcoming the resemblance between the actress and her character. Others urge caution and fear not finding the same chemistry between Dina and Ellie. Bella Ramsey will definitely have to silence her detractors again with season 2 of The Last of Us.
