Episode 4 of The Last of Us includes a strange scene, in a dark room, where we can see the fractured basement shaking. What’s hidden there sends shivers down your spine.
But, what are Kathleen and Perry hiding? These two characters were created from scratch for the adaptation of The Last of Us. Kathleen, leader of a rebellious community, accompanied by Perry, go to the basements of the city. There, they open a door, where you can clearly see a recess in the ground, fractured. The latter then begins to tremble and the two escape.
They decide not to tell anyone. Something is wrong with this town. Or rather under this city. But what ?

A colossus in episode 5 of The Last of Us?
In The Last of Us, there is only one force capable of shaking the ground like this: the infected, those humans transformed into zombies by the Cordyceps. But, we understand that it is not a question of one or two infected here. A horde, perhaps? The answer is far scarier.
It is necessary to remember the trailer of the series. At the end of it, we saw a huge monstrous creature coming out of the ground, in the flames. This infected is well known to players: it is a bloater, or colossus in VF. They represent a very advanced stage of Cordyceps infection, after one to two decades. The fungus has developed enormously in them and they have thus taken in mass. Emitting a castling and throaty sound, they are also much more powerful and aggressive, worse than clickers. In the game, they are difficult “bosses” to fight. Note that they are often accompanied, too, by a horde of other infected.
Given the parallel with the trailer, it is quite likely that this colossus will appear during episode 5, broadcast next Saturday on Prime in France. Expect a big blow of pressure in the continuation of this post-apocalyptic journey, because until now, the infected give cold sweats also in the adaptation.
