The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the game was finished since 2022

All gamers know this quote wrongly attributed to Shigeru Miyamoto, which states the following: “A delayed game is ultimately good, but a rushed game is forever bad”. Even in the age of patches day one and other updates, it’s still relevant, as many titles suffer from a bad reputation after a failed launch, no matter how hard the developers try afterwards.

And obviously, even if he’s not an employee of nintendo who dropped this proverb, the Japanese firm applies it to the letter. Gene Parkjournalist at The Washington Postrecently spoke with Eiji Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The latter notably returned to the announcement of the postponement in March 2022, postponing the release of the game to the spring of the following year. A big blow for the fans, and the producer claims today that the game was almost complete, there were no major problemsbut nintendo preferred to delay the exit to pass another year of fine-tuning the game’s physics.

Without going into too much detail so as not to spoiler, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom allows you to have fun with a lot of elements of the environment to create more or less crazy structures, and this goes through very precise object physics, and therefore extremely fun. nintendo wanted this central point of the gameplay of TotK is successful (and it is), hence this huge postponement. But in the end, the strategy pays off, the game’s ratings are excellent, and the title has sold over 10 million copies in three days.

If you haven’t cracked yet, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available against €69.99 on Amazon.
