the list of 20 new games added, from Ninja Turtles to Farming Simulator

A particularly busy month of May for Apple’s subscription game service with new features, but also a good part of titles rid of their freemium mechanics.

Apple is trying to relaunch its unlimited access gaming service Apple Arcade with a new round of titles arriving this month. Note all the same that if the firm announces 20 games, it is not mostly new, but relatively old games that are found without their in-app purchases, these are recognizable by the acronym “+”. There are even four new entirely original games, one of which exploits the license Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (Ninja Turtles).

New Apple Arcade games in May:

  • TMNT Splintered Fate
  • Disney SpellStruck
  • WHAT THE CAR?
  • Cityscapes: Sim Builder
  • Chess Universe+
  • Disney Coloring World+
  • Disney Getaway Blast+
  • Farming Simulator 20+
  • Getting Over It+
  • Hill Climb Racing+
  • Iron Marines+
  • Kingdom Two Crowns+
  • LIMBO+
  • My Town Home – Family Games+
  • Octodad: Dadliest Catch+
  • PPKP+
  • Snake.io+
  • Temple Run+
  • Time Locker+
  • Very Little Nightmares+

TMNT Splintered Fate clearly has roguelike airs Hades, but in the universe of the famous turtles. The action of the game still takes place in the streets of New York with most of the well-known characters from the series like April O’Neil, Metalhead or Casey Jones. As for Hades, the game offers an evolutionary progression as well as a part of randomness like the layout of the rooms and the bosses who change their attack with each game. The game is developed by Super Evil Megacorp, the same studio behind successful mobile titles like Vainglory.

Do you like Disney and Scrabble? Then you will surely enjoy Disney SpellStruck which combines the Studio universe with the famous board game. The concept speaks for itself therefore, but the game encourages completion with characters to unlock as well as new grids as you progress and dozens of challenges to complete. A 1v1 online multiplayer mode is also on the program. A great way to test your spelling, especially for the youngest and a perfect title to play on Ipad.

WHAT THE CAR? is a title a little more barred, but also more ambitious. This is an absurd racing game in which you play as a car with legs, yes. With a very successful cartoon visual, we go through hundreds of levels / circuits with varied abilities that we naturally do not have in classic racing games with jetpack jumps or wall climbing. In short, a game well barred that deserves a look.

Finally, City Building enthusiasts will be delighted with Cityscapes: Sim Builder. The game is developed by Magic Fuel Games, a studio made up of a large number of former Maxis developers (SimCity, The Sims). We therefore have the assurance that the game is particularly complete and ambitious. The goal remains unchanged, however, it is to create and then manage its city taking into account its economy, its climatic hazards and the movement of people, vehicles and energy. This is a perfect title to be played on Mac like the old fashioned way.

All of these games are generally available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and iPod. They can, for some, be played with a controller.
