PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The quotation of the action of the operator of retirement homes Orpea was suspended Monday morning at the request of the Financial Markets Authority (AMF), indicated Euronext in press release.

“In order to ensure good market information and pending the publication of a press release from the issuer pursuant to the European regulation on market abuse, the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) has requested, this morning before the opening of the market, the suspension of financial instruments (shares, debt securities and related instruments) of the company Orpea”, confirmed the regulator in a press release.

Contacted by the Agefi-Dow Jones agency, a spokesperson for Orpea was unable to comment immediately.

Friday, the title Orpea closed down 1.7%, to 14.74 euros. It had soared more than 40% in the previous five sessions. On Thursday evening, press reports had indicated that the group had sought the support of the Caisse des dépôts before the latter told the Agefi-Dow Jones agency that a stake in the capital of Orpea was not “not on the agenda”. Since the beginning of the year, the action has plunged another 83%, weighed down by the revelations of the book-investigation “Les Fossoyeurs”.
