This Tuesday, March 12, Christian Rodriguez, the director general of the national gendarmerie was invited to the set of RTL. The latter claimed that he was “possible”, that Émile is still alive. “There are significant means that have been implemented, still today. Investigators are trying to look at all possible avenues,” he explains. Furthermore, the head of the French gendarmerie reveals that the investigation services share their working methods for the disappearances of Émile and Lina in Alsace.

Disappearance of Émile: 20 full-time investigators
Because like little Émile, 15-year-old Lina suddenly disappeared without a trace. Cases which a priori have nothing to do with each other but which give investigators a hard time. In total, “20 investigators” working “full time” on this affair, explains Christian Rodriguez. Before specifying that “all the gendarmes contribute to this, because the case of a kidnapping is also part of the working hypotheses. Everyone remains vigilant on these subjects, police officers and gendarmes alike.”
The head of the gendarmerie explains that “Investigators are working on all possible hypotheses.” But above all, “some are more open than others”. Because unlike the disappearance of Lina where the investigators are convinced that she was kidnapped by a motorist, no theory has really been put forward on the disappearance of Émile. And if we now learn that one track is more open than the others, the head of the gendarmerie was careful not to specify which one.

“It is true that today we cannot imagine that a disappearance could take place but in certain areas there are no video surveillance cameras, there is only one telephone relay and not several “, specifies Christian Rodriguez. An element which therefore makes the investigation particularly difficult. And when Amandine Begot asks Christian Rodriguez if he thinks that Émile is still alive, the head of the gendarmerie responds: “I don’t know if he’s still alive, but it’s possible.”
A hope to which Émile’s family must probably cling, who have decided to place their faith in God to find their child.
