Very simple, effective and addictive, you can play it alone for hours, just to beat your own score in each game. With a false air of Pong or Breakout for the oldest, this Easter Egg is however well hidden, especially since Instagram, which has recently improved its private messaging by allowing users to modify their DMs after sending, n never communicated on it. Very very well hidden and very discreet
If you can’t find it or have never heard of it, that’s pretty normal. One of Instagram’s spokespersons told our American colleagues to Tech Crunch by email that “ the company was always working on new ways to make “Instagram more fun,” which is why it rolled out the game ”, but without communicating about its availability.
And you have to look for a long time to find it… In private messages. But it’s not in a context menu. You still need to activate it. And to do this, it’s rather simple:
- Open the conversation of your choice
- Tap the emoji
- Send an emoji (this works with any emoji)
- The game launches directly.
Very very simple and very addictive
With a disconcertingly simple gameplay, this little game, which is reminiscent of things over 20 years old that under 20s cannot know like Pong or Breakout, will quickly get you hooked.
The principle is also very simple. You will have to bounce the emoji you have chosen on the black bar at the bottom of your screen. Each rebound is worth one point and so on. If you drop the emoji, the game ends.
Small subtlety to spice up the game: the more you increase your score, the faster the emoji moves.
The game saves your best score, so you can come back to it at any time to try to beat your previous best score. Your high score is saved in your DMs, so you don’t need to go back to the first emoji you sent when activating the game. You can also activate the game by clicking on an emoji that someone another sent in a DM.
The other person in the chat won’t know what you’re doing unless you explain to them what you’re playing with that emoji you just sent them.
