The LoL playoffs with the public… but not (yet) in Europe!

Since the start of the pandemic, esports fans have been on a diet and very few physical events have taken place. In France, we still had the chance to attend face-to-face matches as during the LFL Days from Nice. But on a European level, the LEC still rings empty. Fans are waiting with hope for the tide to turn and the Split playoffs could be a very nice surprise. But for the moment, there are no signs foreshadowing good news. We still contacted the organizers on our side to try to gather additional information and we will share the results of our research with you.

On the other hand, American fans are in heaven. This weekend, LCS commissioner Jackie Felling confirmed that there will be an audience to attend the MSI Showdown (the playoff equivalent of the Spring Split). Luck… so some should have the opportunity to see in person Hans-Sama and toucouille.

Head to Texas for the LCS playoffs

The competition will take place April 2-24. It will take place in Texas, in the NRG Stadium (Houstons). This stadium usually hosts American football or rodeo matches and can hold up to 80,000 spectators (the 71,000 seats in normal times can be increased with some adjustments). Obviously, with the current context, we imagine that the LCS do not plan to welcome so many people to ensure the safety of the teams and future spectators. It is assumed that there will be a gauge, but with such a high maximum, there is a very nice margin!

We should see more clearly in a few days. Felling only confirmed the news before going elusive on the details. We also do not know at what price the tickets will be offered or if there will be special conditions (vaccines, tests, etc.) to get to the NRG Stadium. On the other hand, we know that for the North American teams it will be necessary to finish in the top 6 of the regular season to take advantage of this little walkabout! TSM should therefore not be part of the party after his catastrophic departure.

It’s home stretch time for the LEC Spring Split Regular Season! There are only two places left for the playoffs for four more contenders, which teams will reach the playoffs?
