The LoL transfer window in question: is Wunder burned in LEC?

The case Wunder gets a lot of talk in the community. The French are particularly virulent with the former toplaner of G2 Esports, in particular because he was a little antagonized by the little prince of the toplane, Adam. But beyond the trash-talk, we must admit that his last year with G2 was particularly complicated. Unable to tell the difference and often dominated on his lane, the Dane crystallized criticism and weighed down the title hopes of the Samurai.

However, several influential members of the community believe that Wunder will rebound quickly, especially because it will be able to evolve in a new environment next year. We think in particular of Caedrel who pointed out several times during his streams that Wunder was still a very big player. And it is true that if Fnatic bet on him, it is surely because the leaders are convinced that he still has a lot to show. Who are we to believe? Is Wunder burnt?

No, Wunder is not (yet) waste

To be completely honest, we weren’t the last to laugh at Wunder and its woes last year. It must be said that on several occasions, he seemed noticeably suspicious and we wondered what was going through his mind. Lack of focus or lack of involvement, his lost duel against Adam and Fnatic seemed particularly worrying. However, for us the Dane is far from over and could very well bounce back in 2022.

  • Wunder is still young : Wunder is a veteran, but he’s not a dinosaur either. Even if he has been in the European elite for ages (since Spring 2016), he is only 23 years old. The Dane is still in the prime of his life and it should also be noted that he has played every segment and every game since January 14, 2016. It’s not as if he was an ancestor who had to relearn the game. and the metagame.
  • A lack of motivation but not a lack of talent : Wunder’s statistics in 2021 are pretty gruesome. With a meager KDA (2.6), a very modest farming (8 cs / m) and a ridiculous kill participation (51%), his record is catastrophic. But paradoxically enough, it’s almost reassuring. We know that the toplaner had a little trouble this year to get involved and motivate himself in the project. We can therefore plead the cause of the accident and we do not think that he lost all his talent overnight. It is enough to restart the machine to make it start again. Wunder still remains a quadruple European champion and one MSI winner.
  • Wunder will land in a new superteam : Wunder hasn’t been to his advantage in 2021, but he’s not the only G2 player to have disappointed and overall the whole team has failed. But next year, Fnatic should make sparks and Wunder lands in a team that impresses. Wunder, Razork, Humanoid, Upset, Hyllisang … We can hardly do better. And if in a team that is doing badly, it is often difficult to shine, in a team that is doing well, everything seems easier. We therefore think that Wunder will take advantage of this new impetus to relaunch and show the extent of his talent, which we still assume to be very present. We will also note that he finds a coach Yamato with whom he proved to be high more at the level when the Dane played at Splyce.

And you what do you think of Wunder ? Will it once again release an unsanitary copy or can it once again become the benchmark toplaner in Europe? In any case, we hope for Fnatic that there is no WoW expansion planned for next year …

esport-lol

Hans Sama (Team Liquid) and toucouille (FlyQuest) will be in the LCS next year and we wish both tricolors to succeed. Before them, other French people tried the American experiment … with varying degrees of success. Back to the blues who tried their luck in NA.
