The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, finally a precise release date for the game of Daedalic and Nacon

It’s been since 2019 that we know that Daedalic Entertainment prepared The Lord of the Rings: GollumWhere The Lord of the Rings: Gollum by us. We have since come to know his gameplay between adventure and infiltration, perhaps not enough yet, but we are still waiting to get our hands on it following its many reports and the arrival of Nakon as an editor.

It was announced for 2022 and will a priori keep this commitment well: The release date of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has just been confirmed for September 1, 2022. However, it will first be offered on PC via SteamPS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, with its Switch version due out later in 2022.

The Lord of the Rings™: Gollum™, based on JRR Tolkien’s legendary Lord of the Rings trilogy, chronicles Gollum’s behind-the-scenes adventures in the early chapters of The Fellowship of the Ring. After losing his precious ring at the hands of Bilbo Baggins, Gollum decides to leave the Misty Mountains and embark on a perilous journey that will take him from the dungeons of Barad-Dûr to the kingdom of the forest elves of Great’Fear. To survive the dangers of his journey through Middle-earth, Gollum must sneak, climb, and use all his cunning. He must also face his alter-ego, Sméagol. It’s up to the players if they want Gollum to have the upper hand in important decisions, or if they prefer to let Sméagol have the upper hand. Gollum also meets familiar characters from the books as well as a few new faces.

The main illustration showing the hero from behind, captivated by the eye of Sauron, was broadcast in passing. Pre-orders for the physical editions planned for consoles are not yet open, but we will let you know as soon as they do.
