The Lord of the Rings: Gollum would arrive on June 22

Updated at 6:27 p.m.: The official announcement has dropped. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is not scheduled for June 22, but May 25, 2023 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The Switch version will be available later this year.

After several months in silence, it seems that the stealth game is about to arrive. Scheduled for September 1, 2022, Daedalic preferred to postpone the release date of the title inspired by Tolkien’s universe. But as the teasing resumed, it seems that the date was given a little too early by the Japanese distributor. And if it has to be taken into account, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum would then be released for June 22, 2023.

However, this trailer tells us nothing more than the hypothetical release date of the game. We see a title with breathtaking and grandiose decorations, but with faces still made of wax. However, we feel a slight improvement on the side of Gollum who, even if he is quite unpleasant to look at, has less protruding eyes. As for the rest, the accent is still on the passages of infiltration and escape. Nothing surprising with such a hero, even if we notice the presence of known heads to explore the story.

It’s hard to say what will happen The Lord of the Rings: Gollum when it is released on June 22. However, he will not escape the comparison with Styx, although he already has a substantial universe for him. It remains to be seen what this new adventure in Middle-earth has in store for us, especially at the controls of a being as atypical as Gollum.
