The Lord of the Rings: the elf Celebrimbor is revealed in The Rings of Power

A major character in JRR Tolkien’s novels, the elf Celebrimbor appears in a new promotional image for the “Lord of the Rings” series, expected on Amazon Prime Video from September 2.

If you haven’t read JRR Tolkien’s novels, his name is unknown to you and yet, it is an understatement to say that the elf Celebrimbor played a major role in the History of Middle-earth! An emblematic figure of the Second Age, the latter indeed contributed to the manufacture of the Rings of Power, and more particularly to the three elven rings: Narya, Nenya and Vilya, respectively entrusted to Cirdan, Galadriel and Gil-galad to protect them from the wizard Sauron .

Although the character hasn’t appeared in the Peter Jackson movies (or even been mentioned), Celebrimbor will play a major role in The Rings of Power series. A new image unveiled exclusively by the magazine Empire thus made it possible to discover a first glimpse of the character, camped by the British actor Charles Edwards (The Crown).

A prequel to the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, The Rings of Power series is set millennia before the adventures of Frondo and the Fellowship of the Ring. Due to their immortality, several elves who appeared in the films will also be present in the series, such as Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and Elrond (Robert Aramayo). Isildur, former king of Gondor and ancestor of Aragorn, will also play a central role in the plot (he only appeared in the prologue of the first film).

The most expensive series ever produced (with a budget of approximately $500 million for its season 1), The Rings of Power will be broadcast exclusively on the Amazon Prime Video platform from September 2.
