The series based on the Lord of the Rings universe is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated of the year. She now has an official title! It will be called The Rings of Power. The Rings of Power in the language of Molière.
Amazon Prime Video has decided to finally reveal the title of its series based on the Lord of the Rings universe. She will be called The Rings of Power, or The Rings of Power in good French. A translation still subject to caution, since nothing has been revealed on that side. A small video has also been published to accompany this announcement.
As a reminder, this series is still very mysterious. We only had one image and one release date (September 2, 2022) till today. The revelation of this title is therefore a giant leap.
The Lord of the Rings series will be called The Rings of Power
In a teaser video (which does not show any real image of the series), we can see this title being revealed, all accompanied by a voiceover which recites a text. Here it is in VO:
“Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. »
This is the story of the creation of the rings, the same spoken by Cate Blanchett (Galadriel) at the beginning of the film The Fellowship of the Ring. Note, however, that it is not the voice of the actress here.

The plot of the series is therefore no longer in doubt. In a press release, the two showrunners, JD Payne and Patrick McKay, confirm that the episodes will dwell on both the creation of the rings of power (logic), but also on the fall of Numenor, on the rise of Sauron or on the last alliance of elves and men, an important page in the history of Middle-earth.
The Rings of Power is the most expensive series ever produced, since the budget for the first season is estimated at 465 million dollars. A crazy bet on the part of Amazon which has absolutely no interest in missing out on this one. We now hope for a first trailer very soon.
