The new Amazon Prime series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” caused numerous comments and divided opinions after its release. While the series was a huge success for the streaming service, there were also many very critical voices. Above all, the occupation of individual roles was strongly criticized.
However, fans and critics were quite unanimous about one thing: With Joseph Mawle (“Game of Thrones”) they cast the hurricane leader Adar exactly right. Now, however, the popular actor has announced his departure from the series. He commented on this decision on Twitter.
Fellow actor Jed Brophy (“The Shannara Chronicles”), who plays Orc Vrath in the series, spoke up and said goodbye to his “father” Adar.

Filming for the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power began in London in October. To mark the occasion, the production team is now introducing seven new cast members who will join the cast of the first season.
It has not yet been announced what roles they will take on. According to the US magazine “Deadline”, it is only certain that Sam Hazeldine (“Sandman”) will take on the role of Adar. This replacement is said to have been clarified months ago. For this reason, Joseph Mawle, who is eliminated from the series, did not attend any promo events for the first season.
When we’ll see Hazeldine in his new role as Adar remains to be seen. It can currently be assumed that the second season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” will not be released before 2024.
Adar was last seen just before the eruption of Mount Doom, as a prisoner of Galadriel and the Númenóreans. However, he managed to escape. His whereabouts are therefore unknown for the coming season. What Joseph Mawle will do after his departure from the series has also not yet been announced.
