The first trailer for the second season of Amazon’s “Lord of the Rings” series is here. The start date for the new episodes has also been set.

Launched in late summer 2022, the Tolkien adaptation “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” proved to be a huge success for Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service. Now the first moving images of the eagerly awaited second season of the fantasy hit have been released. A nearly one and a half minute, action-packed teaser trailer prepares the mood for the return to the Second Age of Middle-earth – and also mentions the start date for the new episodes.

The second season of “The Rings of Power” will be released on Prime Video on August 29th. The preview clip released on May 14th promises a dark new season. Much can be seen in the video of villain Sauron (Charlie Vickers, 31), whose identity was revealed at the end of issue one. “Something evil, ancient and powerful, has returned,” says the dwarf Durin IV (Owain Arthur, 41) in the trailer, before several of the characters such as the elves Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and Elrond (Robert Aramayo, 31) engage in battle become.

Prime Video also published an official plot description for the second season of the “Lord of the Rings” series today.
