Filming is in progress, and now there are the first details of the plot of the new "The Lord of the Rings" series. This is what the audience expects.
Fantasy fans are eagerly awaiting the new "The Lord of the Rings" series from Amazon Studios. Now there is a first official indication of what will be seen on the TV show. The streaming provider describes the content of the series according to "theonering.net" as follows:

"The upcoming series from Amazon Studios brings the hero legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth history to screens for the first time. This epic drama takes place thousands of years before the events of JRR Tolkien's 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings' and will take the audience back to a time when great powers were forged, kingdoms came to glory and fell to ruins, improbable heroes were put to the test, hope hung by the finest threads and the greatest villain that ever sprang from Tolkien's pen, threatened to cover the whole world with darkness. "
It goes on: "Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble of well-known and new characters who face the long-feared reappearance of evil in Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Fog Mountains to the majestic forests of the Elbe capital Lindon, the breathtaking From the island of Númenor to the most distant parts of the map, these kingdoms and characters will create legacies that will last long after they are gone. "
Filming is in progress
Filming for the series should have started last February. But, as with so many productions, the corona pandemic thwarted these plans. In July, the government in New Zealand relaxed the corona measures and filming could allegedly start. The main cast consists of Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers and Daniel Weyman.
