Lucid arrives in Europe with its Lucid Air sedan. It is part of the list of American cars that are eagerly awaited in Europe.

And if you’re looking for a strong challenger to the Tesla Model S, the Lucid Air is a good candidate. At equal segment, the majority of electric cars that try to display the characteristics of Tesla are very far from approaching it. But that’s not the case with the Lucid Air.

The Dream limited edition to start

The first steps in Europe are made with the limited edition dream, available in two different versions. According to the WLTP standard, the first model has a range of 799 kilometers. This Dream Edition Performance sedan develops 828 kW and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.

If you can do without a little power, then you’ll get a little more range with the Dream Edition range of 696 kW and its 883 kilometers. Note that Tesla does not yet offer a vehicle for sale with as much autonomy. The recent Tesla Model S Plaid, which is a competitor of the Lucid Air, displays 633 kilometers of autonomy (WLTP).

Moreover, the Air sedan has a 900-volt architecture, it can be recharged faster than other electric cars currently available. With a 300 kW DC charging capacity, the Lucid Air Grand Touring (which is not yet available in Europe) should be able to recover 400 kilometers of range in around 15 minutes.

Lucid is accepting reservations from European customers for all Lucid Air trim levels. For 300 euros, you can therefore book your Lucid Air from Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland. Beyond the power and range, the prices are also high. In Germany, you have to spend at least 218,000 euros to afford the Air.

Lucid Motors has opened its third European point of sale and its first service, delivery and distribution center in Europe near Amsterdam. The first showroom on European soil was opened in Munich, Germany, and another in Geneva, Switzerland. For the moment, the French market is not affected by this launch.
