M6+ replaces 6Play from this Tuesday, May 14, 2024, it’s official. M6 is equipped with its new free SVOD platform, richer and more complete, which must compete with TF1+.
Last February, M6 announced the arrival of its new streaming platform M6+, at the same time as the departure of Nicolas de Tavernost from the presidency of the group. Three months later, M6+ is finally available and takes over from 6Play. For the moment, M6+ is keeping the 6Play.fr URL, but the transition should take place soon. The M6+ offer with its new interface and its functionalities is in any case easily accessible from now on.
Like TF1+, M6+ is free. An M6+ Max subscription at 4.99 euros is offered to remove advertising. This is without obligation, with a seven-day free trial for any first subscription. It is interesting to note that between the “+” and the “Max”, M6 uses the same terminology as TF1. A trace of the aborted merger between the two French audiovisual giants?
FAST podcasts and channels
M6 promises that “the volume of programs available for free will be multiplied by two” with its new on-demand streaming service. There are 30,000 hours of content available per year, of which 10,000 hours are exclusive. Additionally, programs become available at least 30 days on the platform.
Small originality, M6+ stands out from the competition in offering podcasts, from the radio stations of the M6 group. In addition to videos on demand and live TV channels, users also have access to some linear FAST channels. Téva and Paris Première, however, require a subscription of 1.99 euros per month.
New features, such as an interactive player enriched with data visualization and M6+ STORIES, aim to facilitate engagement and the discovery of new content on the platform, which still looks a lot like TF1+. M6+ supports cast to TV and is available on most TV environments on the market.
