After more than a year of waiting, fans of the Star Wars universe finally have the opportunity to discover the first episode of the third season of The Mandalorian, available on the Disney+ platform.
In this new season, Din Djarin and Grogu embark on an expedition to the planet Mandalore, in order to delve into the Deep Waters as required by the Mandalorian creed for its members found guilty of removing their helmets.
It is now a habit: many winks and easter eggs to the Star Wars saga – but also to other productions – have slipped into this episode. Here are all the hidden details that absolutely should not be missed!

It’s hard not to see in this manly handshake between the Mandalorian and High Magistrate Greef Karga a nod to a famous testosterone sequence from the movie Predator between Dutch’s character (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Major Dillon, too. played by Carl Weathers.
The Purge, kezako?

The Purge discussed in this episode has been mentioned before in previous seasons of The Mandalorian. This term refers to the conflict that pitted Palpatine’s Galactic Empire against the Mandalorians in the years following the end of the Clone Wars.
With the exception of very short flashbacks, this war has never before been shown on screen, either in the live-action series or in the Star Wars animated productions.
A NEW JEDI WILL ARRIVE?

Grogu sees a group of Purrgils near the ship. These creatures with the ability to travel in Hyperspace were last seen in the animated series Star Wars Rebels, and notably in the last episode during which the Jedi Ezra Bridger sacrifices himself to take with him the fleet of the fearsome Grand Admiral Thrawn. .
Enough to give credence to the rumor that these two emblematic characters from the Star Wars extended universe will make their big live-action debut in The Mandalorian, especially since it has already been confirmed that Bridger will appear in the flesh and in the flesh. bones in the Ahsoka Tano series, portrayed by Eman Esfandi.
WE KNOW WHAT BECOME CARA DUNE

It has already been announced that Cara Dune will not return to The Mandalorian, due to the dismissal of her interpreter Gina Carano following controversial remarks. But the fate of the character remained in suspense while several options remained possible: kill her, change interpreter or remove Dune from the plot.
It was ultimately the third option that was chosen, since this episode tells us that the latter has joined the Special Forces. Din Djarin will therefore have to find a new marshall to support him in his next adventures.

If he does not appear in this new episode, Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) is nevertheless mentioned, while Greef Karga informs the Mandalorian that the villain of the two previous seasons will be tried by the court of the New Republic.
It would nevertheless be surprising if the latter would never be talked about again during the next seasons of the series…
SALACIOUS & CIE

Nobody could forget the disgusting Salacious B. Crump, this horrible creature that makes its nest in the rolls of Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi, and who was defeated by R2-D2.
But while we might have thought that Salacious was the only representative of his detestable race, this new episode of The Mandalorian teaches us that there are many congeners of the latter on the planet Nevarro.
KALEVALA

The planet Kalevala is part of the Mandalore system. The fortress where Bo-Katan sits probably belonged to the aristocratic lineage of the New Mandalorians, notably led by Duchess Satine Kryze, known to fans for having maintained close relations with the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi (see the animated series The Clone Wars for further details).
