Never before has a trailer for a “Star Wars” series been viewed more often on Disney+ than the clip for season three of “The Mandalorian”.
The Mandalorian season 3 preview is the most watched trailer for a Disney+ Star Wars series. That was the streaming service according to “The Hollywood Reporter” known. The clip is said to have been clicked 83.5 million times in the first 24 hours.
“Obi-Wan Kenobi” is said to have held the previous record. The trailer for the series, which started in spring 2022 and starred Ewan McGregor (51), reportedly earned 58 million views on the first day.
The record for most views of a trailer holds according to “Guinness Book of Records” By the way, “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. The teaser for the superhero film was seen by 355 million people in the first 24 hours after its debut. On the other hand, there are no reliable figures for series.
The trailer for the third season of “The Mandalorian” premiered on January 16, during the broadcast of a football game. Then the video was posted online. A shorter teaser for the new episodes has already been released.
“The Mandalorian”: That’s what season three is all about
In the trailer, the two main characters can be seen side by side again: The title hero and crowd favorite Grogu aka Baby Yoda, embodied by Pedro Pascal (47). At the end of the second season, the bounty hunter was separated from his foster son, only being reunited in the spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett.
The Mandalorian heads for his home planet in the new season. There he wants to rehabilitate himself. In the second season, he was disgraced for taking off his helmet in the presence of strangers. Season three of The Mandalorian begins March 1, 2023 on Disney+.
