"The Mandalorian" comes to Germany. The "Star Wars" series will be shown on March 24th at the new Disney + streaming service. The first episode shows ProSieben two days before the start of streaming on free TV (22.3., 8:15 p.m.). And what can the "Star Wars" fans expect? The new series by Jon Favreau (53, "Iron Man") appears familiar and yet very different. The main role is played by Pedro Pascal (44, "Game of Thrones"), located between Episode VI ("The Return of the Jedi") and Episode VII ("The Force Awakens").
That's what it's about
The spectator gets to know the eponymous Mandalorian (Pascal) while doing his job: the bounty hunter is just securing his latest loot in a remote location. The series takes place in the so-called outer edge of the galaxy – a largely lawless region. The other places where the Mandalorian goes, whose face remains hidden, are correspondingly dark: The mysterious hero does not take off his mask in this first episode. Armor plays a central role in his guild, as it quickly becomes clear.
A new order finally leads the bounty hunter in search of a fifty-year-old creature to be delivered alive. He finds what he is looking for on a desert-like planet, but his target is protected by numerous "gunslingers". In the end there is a big showdown – and a surprise for the Mandalorian.
Conclusion:
Lots of western flair, no "Star Wars" characters known to fans, but "The Mandalorian" presents an interesting new hero. And the second is added. After all, there has been a huge hype about "Baby Yoda" since the series started in November … If you want to experience more of the Mandalorian, you have to spend money. The other episodes run on the streaming service Disney + (59.99 euros for a year if interested people subscribe before March 24). The first two episodes will be available at the start on March 24th. The third episode follows on Friday, March 27th, followed by a new episode every Friday.
