There is admittedly only one post-credits scene in The Marvels (in theaters since November 8, 2023), but the end itself of the film is an opening on the future of the MCU. What does this last scene imply? Warning: spoilers. We advise you to have already seen the feature film before reading the rest of this article.
The end of The Marvels: towards the Young Avengers?
Kamala Khan dreams of joining the Avengers, since her own series, Miss Marveland throughout The Marvels. Problem: she’s a little too young for that, probably, in the eyes of the superhero team already formed. At the end of The Marvelswe find the heroine of the series Hawkeye : Kate Bishop, as Hailee Steinfield.
And for good reason, Kamala slipped quietly into her house, and was waiting for her there. Taking a very serious look, she asks him to join a new team of Avengers, which she is in the process of putting together. She specifies, however, that Kate would certainly be her first recruit, but that she is determined to expand the group. Cassie Lang, Ant-Man’s daughter (seen in Quantumania), is also mentioned in the discussion. Although Kate clarifies that she is not a teenager (23 years old!), she nevertheless seems interested in the proposal.
The scene seems to confirm the rumor: a project Young Avengers (inspired by comics on this same theme) is in preparation. And we can already be certain that Kamala and Kate would then be there, Kamala playing the role of a sort of teenage version of Nick Fury, by recruiting heroes and heroines. Who else could join the team? We of course think of Iron Heart, which will very soon be entitled to its own series with Dominique Thorne (after appearing in Wakanda Forever). Added to this is Miss America (America Chavez), central character of Doctor Strange 2 performed by Xochitl Gomez.
We don’t really know more about this project. Young Avengerssince this is not part of the officially announced films, unlike Captain America: New World Order or the next two Avengers (Secret Wars And The Kang Dynasty) Or Deadpool 3, For example. This could be a film, a series, or simply be integrated into the background narrative of the MCU.
