Singing was yesterday: In the new show “The Masked Dancer”, the audience will soon be able to puzzle over who is dancing under the mask.

After “The Masked Singer” comes “The Masked Dancer”: This is the name of the new TV show that fans of celebrity guess shows in Germany, Austria and Switzerland can look forward to. The production company Endemol Shine Germany has secured the license for the German-speaking area from the Korean company MBC. After all, so much is revealed about the concept: “In ‘The Masked Dancer’, masked celebrities from the most varied of fields compete against each other in a dance duel and are unmasked in the course of the format.”

Although the show is new in Germany, it is already being broadcast successfully in other countries: In the USA, “The Masked Dancer” celebrated its successful premiere on the FOX broadcaster after Christmas last year. The British offshoot of “The Masked Dancer” started at ITV at the end of May this year.

Endemol Shine Germany is a broadcaster-independent TV production company that produces a wide variety of formats such as “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” (RTL), “Promi Big Brother” (Sat.1) or “Kitchen Impossible” (VOX). The company is also jointly responsible for “The Masked Singer” (ProSieben), which is starting its fifth season in Germany this fall.
