The new season of “The Masked Singer” has started. Ten celebrities stood on the stage, in the end Brilli had to identify himself.

The successful format “The Masked Singer” (always on Saturdays, 8:15 p.m., live on ProSieben and on Joyn) has started its new season. On Saturday evening (March 19), the ten masked celebrities made their debut on stage. And Thore Schölermann (37) also celebrated the premiere as host, regular moderator Matthias Opdenhövel (51) fell out due to corona disease. Ruth Moschner (45), Rea Garvey (48) and guest juror Ralf Schmitz (47) gave their first tips as a guessing team as to who could be hiding behind the elaborate costumes.

Rea Garvey has a favorite costume

While the starfish, the zebra, the seagull, the thorny devil, the gorilla and the koala were introduced before the show, Brilli and three other masks were seen for the first time ever. The orc also started as a newcomer. On stage, the giant, who “can sometimes be grumpy and in a bad mood”, performed Maneskin’s rocking “Zitti e buoni”. The guessing team suspected a woman from the music business under the costume. In addition, she must be able to speak Italian. Gianna Nannini (67) or Jana Ina Zarrella (45) could therefore be heard as tips.

The zebra wowed the audience and the guessing team with his warm voice. For Garvey, the performance was “a huge surprise. It just has to be a professional singer”. Ralf Schmitz, on the other hand, suspected comedienne Carolin Kebekus (41) under the costume. While Garvey has found his favorite costume with the zebra, the starfish is visually not his thing, despite the “mad voice”. Moschner could imagine singer Bahar (33) among them.

This mask delivered “best performance of the evening”

The young “The Masked Singer” viewer Emma was allowed to create the template for a mask. The broadcaster had previously called on all fans under the age of 15 to send in crazy suggestions for a mask. The colorful Brilli has two different shoes and a chef’s hat, after the performance the advice team guessed an occasional singer, such as Lena Gercke (34) or Michelle Hunziker (45). The Koala, who runs the “Eucalyptus Express” snack bar in his native Australia, has names like Bata Illic (82) and Paul Potts (51).

Galax’Sis scored with her voice and extraterrestrial look. For the guessing team, Linda Zervakis (46), Anke Engelke (56) and Judith Williams (50) are under the costume. Three men suspected the three under the costumes seagull, thorny devil and gorilla. The long-legged seagull could be “Let’s Dance” candidate and comedian Bastian Bielendorfer (37), Mario Basler (53) or Johannes B. Kerner (57), the thorn devil could be the actor Mark Keller (56) or Jan Josef Liefers (57) . The gorilla from the “silverbacks” mansion, who likes to break with the aristocratic cliché, gave a rocking performance. Faisal Kawusi (30) or Marc Terenzi (43) were guessed.

The sparkling conclusion was offered by the disco ball, which received standing ovations for her powerful performance. “The best performance of the evening and definitely a singer,” Garvey was sure, who guessed Jeanette Biedermann (42). Ork, Brilli, Möwe and Galax’Sis had to tremble after the audience vote, in the end the fantasy creature Brilli had to resign. No tip from the advice team came true, moderator Jeannine Michaelsen (40) was under the costume.

“The Masked Singer” tour announced
