The Masked Singer: Franziska Knuppe is the bat

"The Masked Singer" enters the second round. After singer Stefanie Heinzmann (31) had to drop her mask in the opening show, show two, among others, the Wuschel, the chameleon and the goddess have to duel – and that before empty ranks. "Safety and health is paramount, but we still want to spend a nice evening," Mathias Opdenhövel (49) explains the coronavirus precaution. The original applause from Show Eins, played by a buzzer on the jury console, is intended to create the right mood. Who can convince despite limited audience support?

The cockroach in the fur coat performs a medley from "California Love" by 2Pac and "Hey Ya!" by Outkast. Who is behind the animal costume? "A German singer, maybe Angelo Kelly," said juror Rea Garvey (46). Ruth Moschner (43) taps on a musician from a band. "Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys, he now lives in Germany". Elton suspects Steffen Henssler (47) behind the cockroach. The sloth rocks with "Kiss" by Prince, juror Elton (48) suspects first TV legend Stefan Raab (53), then comedian Luke Mockridge (30) behind the fur costume. Garvey thinks it could be his good buddy Sasha (48).

In the triathlon chameleon, goddess and whisper, the green-glittering representative starts and sings "Bella Ciao". Moschner and Elton could imagine Dieter Hallervorden (84), despite his old age. The goddess tries "Rise like a Phoenix", Garvey sees behind the gold glittering costume, which weighs 35 kilos, moderator Dunja Hayali (45). Moschner suspects a sporty woman behind the sophisticated costume. Barbara Becker (53) maybe? Elton could imagine Maren Kroymann (70). Up to now, the whisper has provided most of the questioning faces. After his performance, Moschner YouTuber Julien Bam (31) suspects on the swivel chair of the costume. Elton tends to actor Thomas Hackenberg (57).

Model in pink or athlete in green?

The pink bat is up against the kite – with "Beat It" by Michael Jackson. Garvey can only imagine model Franziska Knuppe (45), Moschner sees more moderator Annett Möller (41) behind the big bat head. "Matthias Steiner could be the dragon," Moschner explains after his appearance. Elton sees musician Gregor Meyle (41) behind the terrifying costume.

In the last duel, the bunny has to go – the judges grope in the dark. Garvey wants to see Collien Ulmen-Fernandes (38) behind the rabbit costume, Moschner guesses actress Diana Amft (44), Elton advises comedian Martina Hill (45). The robot convinces again with an impressive voice. The guesses are singer Marta Jandová (45), Shirin David (24) and Carolin Niemczyk (29). But the riddle surrounding the silver costume also continues in show three.

In addition to the rabbit, the cockroach, the goddess and the bat must tremble. The latter is at the top of the list at the end of the list. Ruth Moschner, Elton and Rea Garvey are sure that Franziska Knuppe will show up – and in the end they are right. "Relieved, but of course it's a shame," explains Knuppe after her exposure. It was the first time that she sang on stage, but in the end she exposed herself with speech-heavy songs. Garvey is relieved that he did not disgrace himself and then recognized his good friend by his voice.
