The Chili is the first exit of the “The Masked Singer” autumn season. There was a newscaster behind the costume.

The fifth season of the colorful music advice show “The Masked Singer” (always Saturdays, 8:15 pm, live on ProSieben and on Joyn) has started – and for a mask artist, the fun is traditionally over again. But at the beginning of the opening show, one of two other, not yet known “Top Secret” masks was unveiled.

Mülli Müller, Mops and Axolotl got on immediately

“This is Mülli Müller,” said moderator Matthias Opdenhövel (51), referring to the blue-green fantasy creature that peeked out of the garbage can after the clue clip. Together with Teddy, Axolotl, Pug and Chili, Mülli Müller competed in the first of the two groups of five.

In the case of Mülli Müller and the Pug, the advice team Ruth Moschner (45), Rea Garvey (48) and advice guest Alvaro Soler (30) agreed that there were professionals behind them. “A real singer with a lot of stage experience,” said Garvey of Mülli Müller. Moschner’s “hairstyle technical” tip was: “Godmother of Punk” Nina Hagen (66). Soler was more likely to see Tote-Hosen frontman Campino (59). Musician Johannes Oerding (39) was thrown into the ring as the third name. However, that was nothing against the pug, who had “sung a lot, unbelievable”, said Soler. Beatrice Egli (33), Vanessa Mai (29) and surprisingly presenter Katja Burghard (56) were the tips here.

Mülli Müller, Mops and the axolotl, called “Lotti” – which was a little annoying to Opdenhövel – immediately advanced one round. In the latter case, the advice team saw “someone with comedy talent rather than a singer”: Carolin Kebekus (41), Tahnee (29) or Maren Kroymann (72).

In contrast, Teddy and Chili had to shiver to get into the next show. While Teddy is more “young and female”, the guessing team thought a man behind the chili. The tips: Ex- “Let’s Dance” star Ekaterina Leonova (34) or model mom Heidi Klum (48) vs. news anchor Jens Riewa (58), “Let’s Dance” judge Joachim Llambi (57) or casting director Rolf Scheider (65 ).

The caterpillar, heroine and phoenix didn’t have to tremble for long either

At the beginning of the second round of five – phoenix, heroine, skunk, hammerhead shark and “?” – the second, hitherto unknown mask was unveiled: the caterpillar. And it was also well received by the advice team. The three even suspected Helene Fischer (37) or Anke Engelke (55), Maria Furtwängler (55) or Carolin Kebekus behind the costume. Next up was the “most touching appearance” for Ruth Moschner: the Phoenix. While she was thinking of actor Samuel Koch (34), Garvey trusted this performance to star chef Tim Mälzer (50) and Soler guessed Michael Bully Herbig (53).

Then it was said: Curtain up for the hammerhead shark! While Garvey and Soler tipped the acting stars Hans Sigl (52, “Der Bergdoktor”) and Til Schweiger (57, “Keinohrhasen”), Moschner was totally excited: “I know you so well. You are the worst here,” she grumbled because the name was on the tip of her tongue and just didn’t want to get out. According to Moschner, the skunk with its “elegant appearance” could be embodied by the news anchor Ingo Zamperoni (47). Alvaro Soler thought he recognized “Tatort” star Jan Josef Liefers (57).

“The heroine is afraid of kudu and angris,” said Opdenhövel, alluding to the eerie masks of the previous season. The advice team decided on musical actress Jeannine Michaelsen (39) or actress and singer Anna Loos (50) or Jeanette Biedermann (41).

Caterpillar, heroine and phoenix advanced immediately from this round. Hammerhead shark and skunk joined the other two wobbly candidates, Teddy and Chili.

Teddy, skunk and hammerhead shark have made it to the next round

After the count, it was clear who would also be in the second episode next Saturday (23.10.). The first thing to look forward to was the teddy bear, followed by the skunk and hammerhead shark. So it was clear: the chilli is out. And behind it was: “Tagesschau” head spokesman Jens Riewa. “I thank ProSieben for the most sensational family show,” he enthused, not at all disappointed.
