the MCU film is not for now

We’ve been hearing about the arrival of the X-Men in the MCU for years. Well obviously it’s not for now. This is what we know.

Many X-Men fans were hoping to hear some news from the franchise during Marvel’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Alas, this was not the case except for the return of an animation series that we are talking about here. But nothing about a live-action film with our mutant friends.

Several years of waiting for X-Men

According to journalist Devin Faraci currently editor of Birth Movies Death, the reboot of X-Men will arrive much later, for good reason. He explains :

Despite the introduction of mutants at the end of Miss Marvel, there won’t be any X-Men in Phase 5. I know why there won’t be any mutants and why it will take a while. There can be individual mutants. There might be other characters that have some interest. But the reason is that the contractual situation with the original Fox material will be in effect until 2025. So if they don’t want to use these actors, they have to wait until that contract expires.

In short, the original actors still have a contract until 2025 with Fox. So mutants won’t arrive until phase 7 of the MCU. And Disney has just unveiled phase 5 and 6. At this rate you can understand that the X-Men in the cinema still seems far away.

That said, we can still have the right to surprises, in particular thanks to a certain Deadpool 3 or quite simply the multiverse which allows madness like in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In any case, it will be necessary to wait to see the X-Men in dark rooms (or elsewhere).
