Revealed next April, the future Mercedes EQS SUV reveals the first images of its interior, very close to the sedan.

The Mercedes EQS SUV reveals its ultra-modern interior

Having lagged behind its rivals for many years in terms of electrification, Mercedes has since made a big leap forward by developing its trendy range, with its EQ division. As a reminder, this was prefigured in 2019 during the Frankfurt Motor Show with the revelation of the Mercedes Vision EQS concept, announcing the arrival of the production version two years later.

Since then, the firm with the star has very clearly caught up and expanded its catalog, with the arrival of several electric SUVs, namely the Mercedes EQC, EQA and EQB, as well as two electric sedans, the EQS and EQE, without talk about the EQV camper van. But the brand obviously does not intend to stop there, as it is now working on the launch of an SUV version of its flagship. Called EQS SUV, it will be revealed on April 19 but is already starting to show itself, especially on social networks.

First images revealed

For the time being, information is still scarce on this newcomer to the range, which should remain very close to the large sedan, both in terms of style, size and performance. If the exterior design has not yet been shown, while prototypes have already been seen, we should find a front face similar to what we already know.

As for the interior, Mercedes is already giving us some info by posting a series of photos showing the driving position. Unsurprisingly, this will be very close to the standard EQS, with its 1.40 meter wide Hyperscreen incorporating the MBUX system – probably available as an option, as on the sedan. It will be possible for the occupants to watch streaming videos or television depending on the country and the different legislations around the world.

A nice space on board

Unsurprisingly, this Mercedes EQS SUV will offer excellent habitability to its occupants and will be able to accommodate up to seven people on board. The two seats in the 3rd row will be independent and more comfortable than those currently installed in the GLE according to the first rumors. Rear passengers will be able to enjoy screens and a Dolby Atmos audio system.

Revealed in about a month, the new electric SUV should begin marketing by the end of the year. The EQS SUV will then be assembled within the factory of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and will be equipped with batteries manufactured at the new production site opened in Bibb County.
