The electric car experimental Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX has just covered just over 1000 km on a single charge, an excellent advertisement for this car announced as the “most efficient in the world”.

The VISION EQXX will have traveled some 1008 km without having to recharge between a small town in Germany and Cassis, on the Côte d’Azur.

Mercedes, an undisputed leader

From 2020 and the first information circulating on the VISION EQXX, Mercedes claimed that its next production would be the most efficient in the world, advancing the plump number of 1200 km of autonomy without having to stop at a charging station. Officially unveiled last January, this estimate had been revised downwards, to 1000 km, but that did not prevent Mercedes from showing concretely what the brand was advancing.

The VISION was therefore able to benefit from a short pleasure trip between the towns of Sindelfingen in Germany (where one of the manufacturer’s factories is located) and Cassis in the south of France, via Switzerland and Italy. The goal was simple: reach your destination on a single battery charge using regulated roads. 11 hours and 32 minutes later, and after 1008 km, the VISION EQXX arrived safely with even more than enough to drive 140 km.

Objective fulfilled for the brand which establishes its position as a technological leader by exceeding the expectations of the teams. Indeed, the overall energy consumption of the vehicle was 8.7 kWh per 100 km, which is a much better result than expected. The car was able to benefit during its journey from its wide choice of devices, such as regenerative brakes or solar panels positioned on the roof which could provide up to 25 km of autonomy on a journey of 1000 km.
