The miHoYo studio (Genshin Impact) announces the creation of the HoYoverse brand, its virtual universe

The success of Genshin Impact is undeniable and continues to grow over time. Despite all the criticisms that can be made and more precisely on the economic aspect which is debatable, the game of the Chinese studio MiHoYo is more than profitable. It was then obvious that the company was not going to stop there, their vision going beyond video game borders. The studio then announced HoYoverse, a new brand for a “virtual universe”.

A concept in its infancy

Concretely, everything that revolves around this HoYoverse is still vague, because it is actually a trademark registered by the company. Many users on social networks are just as vague, thinking that the Chinese company wants to create a Marvel-like multiverse with its game. Genshin Impact.

But that’s not the issue here at all. MiHoYo just wants to expand to other media and other mediums. On its official website, the studio presents this as follows:

“The brand aims to create and deliver an immersive world experience to gamers around the world through various entertainment services […] Our mission in creating HoYoverse is to create a vast and content-driven virtual world, whether in games, anime, or other types of entertainment.”

So what can we expect from all this? MiHoYo will surely develop its production of content to other media, anime for example, but also to technological research in their various poles in Montreal, Los Angeles, Singapore, Tokyo and Seoul. The studio also promises to work on new ways to improve the player experience.

This is all a bit vague. The desire to expand is on the other hand rather clear, and we will remain attentive to see what will be released under this new HoYoverse brand.
