From Software and Bandai Namco have finally detailed the hardware required to run their new open world on Steam. CPU, GPU, RAM, SSD required or not and the weight of the game, here is all the information as well as the mini config to play it while waiting for the recommended config and the ultra.

It’s rare for a game as big as Elden Ring to announce PC specs so late, just two weeks before release, and it was discovered directly on his Steam page. We can assume that the developers have sought to optimize their game to the maximum in order to be able to run Elden Ring on machines as modest as possible. It must be said that buying a new high-end graphics card is more difficult than ever with the shortage of semiconductors. Unfortunately, we will have to wait a little longer for the recommended configuration and the Ultra one, only the minimum one is available at the moment. Expect to have to adjust your graphics settings for the best gaming experience.

Update : This information has now been removed from the Steam page. It is possible that they are wrong, some hope that was the recommended configuration.

Elden Ring: Minimum System Requirements

  • Operating System: Win10, Win11
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
  • RAM: 12 GB of memory
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, 3 GB or AMD Radeon RX 580, 4 GB
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Disk space: 60 GB available disk space

The size of the game may seem small for an open world, but FromSoftware has a reputation for being the king of compression for its games. Additionally, the game would be available with different texture packs depending on the platform. The recommended version should indicate a weight of 80 GB when it becomes available.

It only remains for you to decide if there is still time to order new components for your PC, or even a new machine for example. The component crisis is likely to extend into 2023, so don’t expect prices to drop in the near future.

For the record, Elden Ring is coming to PC (obviously), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series this February 25, 2022.
