Ua trip he will remember for a long time. A young 20-year-old student, Briccio, was abandoned by his driver BlaBlaCar on the Narbonne-Vinassan area, on the A9, Monday January 2, relays The Dispatch. To make a trip between Montpellier and Toulouse, the student reserves a place in the vehicle of a man named Nathan, via the carpooling application. “The driver was rated 4.9/5. There were about 30 reviews that were correct. Generally I trust opinions, ”he explains on social networks.
Taking the road towards Toulouse, the car stops at the Narbonne-Vinassan motorway rest area for a break. The student then gets out of the vehicle and goes to the toilet. When he returns, the BlaBlaCar driver is no longer present. “At first I thought he had just changed places. I then tried to call him, but I got his answering machine,” he says.
Student arrives 24 hours late
After several tens of minutes of waiting, he begins to ask for help. “With the convenience store staff, we tried to call taxis or Ubers, but they weren’t available. I tried to warn BlaBlaCar and hitchhike, but without success. Finally, I spent the night in the convenience store on the motorway rest area,” he says.

The next day, Briccio finally manages to get in touch with the carpooling platform. “They sent me a taxi, assures the student. It allowed me to go to Narbonne station. I finally arrived home, but 24 hours late. I tried to contact the driver again, but got no response. After the incident, BlaBlaCar justified itself by stating that “these are very rare cases, which are dealt with on a case-by-case basis to provide the most appropriate and humane solution. “The platform also ensures that” his journey as well as his additional expenses will be reimbursed to him “.
