The Mist on Netflix: this end that you will not recover from!

The horror film “The Mist”, the screen adaptation of Stephen King’s classic, is available on Netflix. The opportunity to (re)discover this oppressive work, the end of which remains in our minds for a long time.

Of the many film adaptations of Stephen King, this is undoubtedly one of the most successful. The feature film The Mist, transposition to the screen of the short story Mist, published in 1985 in the homonymous collection, is an oppressive work from which we do not come out unscathed.

Available on Netflix, The Mist, released in theaters in 2007, immerses the viewer in a small town where a strange and distressing phenomenon is taking place: a mist rises, thick, so much so that it is no longer possible to distinguish what whether only a few meters away. The inhabitants then take refuge in the local supermarket and find themselves besieged by mysterious creatures, hidden in the fog…

Then begins a particularly anxiety-provoking behind closed doors in which the heroes will have to unite to get out of it. But is it possible when we know human nature? While some give in to panic, David, played by actor Thomas Jane (The Punisher), wonders which is more frightening: the monsters lurking in the mist or his fellow refugees in the supermarket?

Directed by Frank Darabont, accustomed to the work of Stephen King (it is to him that we owe the cult The Green Line), The Mist is distinguished by a very dark end, different from that of the novel, which we tell you about. will reveal nothing in order to keep the surprise intact. Know in any case that it was Darabont himself who insisted on shooting this nihilistic version which should haunt you long after watching the film.

Note that the series The Mist, also adapted from the work of Stephen King, is also available on the Netflix platform. It is composed of a single and unique season of 10 episodes.
