On France Bleu Picardie, the deputy François Ruffin indicated that he will propose Wednesday to the National Assembly three new articles in the labor code to revalorize the status of cleaning women.

François Ruffin, rebellious deputy of the Somme, embarks on a new fight. Invited, this Monday, May 25, at France Bleu Picardie, the politician revealed wanting to table Wednesday May 27 in the National Assembly a bill "so that the mistreatment of cleaning women ends", in the hospital as elsewhere.

He also wants to encourage companies to give them full-time contracts, by overpaying by 50% the hours worked early in the morning and late at night, and by giving them the same rights as the employees of the companies in which they come. work, as reported by FranceInfo.

"Behind that, you also have to see the working conditions. This cleaning lady gets up at 5 am and takes 2 buses in a row. She has a small contract from 6 to 9 am and resumes in the evening from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. She returns home, it is 8:30 pm The day is centered around transport and work. However, this day even leads to the Smic at the end of the month! " he explains. "It is necessary that the hospital of Amiens, the National Assembly or even France Bleu pay more. It is not normal that the cleaning women are crushed whereas they make an essential trade! (…) A maintenance worker who works for example in the hospital of Amiens should have the same rights as the employees of the hospital of Amiens, insists the rebellious member. It doesn't have to be huge, but there are social benefits, scholarships for students, a bonus of 250 euros per month. " he adds to France Bleu Picardie.

This proposal would be included in three new articles, which would be added to the Labor Code.

François Ruffin seeks and wishes "a more social turn". "The President of the Republic reminds us of the Declaration of Human Rights and tells us: social distinctions can only be based on common utility. I open the door for them: asking them what they are going to do? What are they going to offer? ", he insists. And according to him, the exceptional bonus of 1,000 euros introduced by Emmanuel Macron is not enough.

"We are not managers at McDonald's who give bonuses to the best employees in the country. It is a question of improving the working conditions of maintenance workers over time", said François Ruffin
