When "Monika" bursts into the life of musician Mat, he wants to get rid of her. But it is his depression – played by Nora Tschirner.

New series tells from the perspective of a mental illness: In "The Mopes" by screenwriter Ipek Zübert and director Christian Zübert (47, "Arthur's Law"), musician Mat (Roel Dirven, 33) suddenly becomes "Monika" (Nora Tschirner, 39 ) besieged. What sounds like a more conventional relationship drama is something completely different.

This is what "The Mopes" is all about

Singer-songwriter Mat is reasonably successful, reasonably happily forgiven, and reasonably satisfied with his life. Monika is efficient, organized and is about to be promoted. When the two meet, however, their worlds go upside down, because Monika is a moderate depression – that of Mat. While the musician believes he is hallucinating the new woman in his life and tries to get rid of Monika by absurd means, she discovers completely new pages in themselves …

In addition to Nora Tschirner as a depression, Kathrin Angerer (born 1970) gives a face to "panic disorder" and Matthias Matschke (52, "Pastewka") can be seen as a "post-traumatic stress disorder". Paula Kalenberg (34, "Krabat") and Adina Vetter (41, "Vorstadtweiber") also take part in other roles.

The six half-hour episodes of the dramedy "The Mopes" will be shown on Tuesday at 8:15 pm on TNT Comedy from May 11th.
