the most requested music streaming service finally arrives

After Spotify and Tidal, it’s the turn of a new music streaming service to arrive on Tesla electric cars. The next update now rolling out should satisfy many owners who have been asking for Apple Music for many years.

The next update of Tesla vehicles should delight users of Apple products, since it is indeed Apple Music coming ! This was revealed on a car currently on display at the Petersen Museum in the United States, and confirmed by multiple sources.

After Spotify and Tidal, it’s time for Apple Music

Almost a year ago, Tesla marked – to everyone’s surprise – the arrival of a new music streaming service on board its vehicles: Tidal. Despite the relative low popularity of this service worldwide, it was the choice that had been made to complete the service offer of the American manufacturer, which until then only offered Spotify.

Apple Music was highly anticipated at that time by many owners of Tesla Model 3 or Model Y in particular, unfortunately this is not what happened. However, it looks like that wait is coming to an end with software version 2022.40.50, with a new Apple Music app that appears on the app launcher.

Stream over 100 million songs and 30,000 playlists ad-free. Listen to your entire library, discover more music, and listen to live radio stations. To access Apple Music, tap the Apple Music icon in the app launcher, scan the QR code with your mobile device, and sign in with your Apple ID.
Note: A premium connectivity subscription is required to stream Apple Music over a cellular connection.

As always with Tesla, it takes a few weeks for this update to be available on the majority of vehiclesbut the release notes we share above reveal the details of how Apple Music works in vehicles.

Unsurprisingly, to enjoy Apple Music (as is already the case for Tidal and Spotify), a subscription to premium connectivity (9.99 euros per month) is required. If you are not a subscriber, a Wi-Fi connection is required to be able to use Apple Music, which brings an additional constraint, requiring you to put your smartphone in connection sharing for example.
