Fans can look forward to eight new episodes: “Der Bergdoktor” starts its 17th season on January 4th.
“Bergdoktor” fans should mark January 4th, 2024 in red on their calendars. The popular ZDF series with the main protagonist Hans Sigl (54) is starting the 17th season, as the broadcaster announces. The eight new episodes tie in directly with the events of the last season, in which everything was set for change.
What happened at the Gruberhof so far?
What happened so far: Dr. Martin Gruber (Sigl) has left the Gruberhof. His brother Hans (Heiko Ruprecht, 51) is unforgiving and refuses to speak to him. Martin plans to move away from Ellmau completely. He is looking for a successor for his practice and for an apartment in New York. Franziska (Simone Hanselmann, 43) lives there with their son. Neither mother Lisbeth (Monika Baumgartner, 72) nor daughter Lilli (Ronja Forcher, 27) can dissuade him. When Gruber wants to get on a plane to the USA, he receives a message that makes him turn back: Lisbeth has collapsed.

In the opening episode “Looking Forward,” fans can breathe a sigh of relief. After her collapse, Lisbeth was transferred back to the normal ward and the brothers Martin and Hans are slowly getting closer to each other again. Although Martin no longer lives on the Gruberhof, he wants to help his brother with farming. His originally planned stay in New York has been postponed until further notice. And Martin even agrees to a meeting with Karin Bachmeier (Hilde Dalik, 45)…
In addition to the main cast of “Bergdoktor” Hans Sigl, Mark Keller, Ronja Forcher, Heiko Ruprecht, Monika Baumgartner, Natalie O’Hara, Rebecca Immanuel and many more, there are also new faces to see. Frédéric Brossier comes to Ellmau as David Kästner. Luis Immanuel Rost returns to the Wilder Kaiser as Jens-Torben Schmidt. Guest stars include Tom Böttcher, Oona Devi Liebich, Max Woelky and Peter Kremer.
The eight new episodes of “Der Bergdoktor” will be broadcast on ZDF every Thursday at 8:15 p.m. from January 4th.
