Polish mothers leave moved the planet with this gesture of solidarity. They leave their stroller at the station for the Ukrainian mothers who arrive with their children in their arms.
It is a snapshot first posted on March 3, 2022 on Twitter, then reposted on March 7, 2022 by an Italian photoreporter. The photo bears witness to the extent of the emotion and European solidarity towards the Ukrainians who are fleeing their country attacked by Russia. At a train station in Poland, parents left pushchairs available for refugees in need. Indeed, many women have fled with their children without having all the necessary equipment to be able to take care of them and take them everywhere easily. More than 1.5 million refugees have fled Ukraine in ten days, according to the UN, making it the fastest refugee crisis since World War II. In Poland, more than 920,000 people have already been received.
Children first victims of conflicts
Unicef alert on the situation of children in Ukraine. According to UNICEF Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Afshan Khan: “The use of explosive munitions in cities could quickly turn this crisis into a real disaster for children. No armed operation of this magnitude is without consequences for children. The consequences will be tragic.” On BFM TV, the deputy regional director of UNICEF Europe and Central Asia Philippe Cori pointed out that “children under the bombs in Europe in the 21st century, it is no longer conceivable”. He wishes to intensify the reception of refugees in neighboring countries: “We expect much more. The nuclear power plant has shocked the populations enormously, and it is clear that we expect an intensification of the miseries”he lamented, pointing out that “the child is the first victim of this conflict”.
