What is it about ?

Cyril Le Goff is doing his tai-chi in the Manor Park when he is brutally murdered. This doctor trained in shamanic techniques in Tibet had shocked the whole region by marrying the Duchess Louise de Crémier a year earlier… thirty years his senior.

The investigation is entrusted to Maud Artuis, a gendarmerie captain more than eight months pregnant and who lost her husband shortly after learning of her pregnancy. She receives the unexpected help of Lucien Labeguerri, a private detective commissioned by Estelle, the Duchess’s daughter, who was convinced that her mother was the victim of an abuse of weakness.

Who killed Cyril? Louise’s daughter? The hunters that Cyril had stopped from hunting on the mansion grounds? Cyril’s ex-girlfriend? The steward of the mansion? Maud and Lucien are not at the end of their surprises. The twists and turns of the investigation will lead them to confide in their painful life course… when a new assassination occurs.

The Mysteries of the Duchess directed by Emmanuelle Dubergey and written by Philippe Le Dem and Lorenzo Gabriele.

With Lorie Pester, Jeremy Banster, Ludmila Mikael, Danièle Lebrun, Elisa Servier, Patrick Raynal, Vanessa Liautey, Éric Savin, Kenza Saïb-Couton, Nicolas Van Beveren…

This Saturday, September 17 at 9:10 p.m. on France 3

What the press think…

According to Télé Loisirs:

Duchess, mansion, family grudges: the elements come together to give us a good time of television cluedo. While the plot takes us on a long queue of suspects, Ludmila Mikael’s charisma compensates for a classic and highly anticipated thriller narrative scheme.3.5/5

According to Télé 7 Jours:

Like any good self-respecting police TV movie, this story has many twists and turns. Nevertheless, more than the plot, it is above all the duo formed by Lorie Pester and Jeremy Banster who carry this rather nice TV movie..” 3/5

According to TV Star:

A well-constructed plot and actors who stand out for their nuanced acting.” 3/5

According to TV Cable Sat:

Despite explanatory dialogues and a borrowed staging, this TV movie is rather successful. The emotion is even present.” 3/5

According to Telerama:

Emmanuelle Dubergey […] once again appropriates the codes of the Saturday night thriller on France 3: unspoken family secrets, a duo of investigators with a tortured past and relatively convincing twists, all staged in natural settings in the provinces. Nothing less, nothing more.” 2.5/5
