Liam Neeson is being discussed as the lead actor, although it is not yet clear whether he would also play Frank Drebin or a new character. Neeson already proved in “Ted 2” that he can be completely serious and very funny at the same time. That’s probably how Seth MacFarlane came up with the idea of ​​suggesting Neeson for this role.

No reunion with the old stars

As early as 2022, Neeson hinted in an interview with People that he might star in The Naked Gun reboot. In 2013, Paramount tried a new “The Naked Gun” film, at the time still starring Ed Helms (“The Hangover”).

The new edition of “The Naked Gun” is not expected to start before 2024. Unfortunately, a guest appearance by Leslie Nielsen is no longer possible and no one will want to see OJ Simpson. Priscilla Presley alone could briefly return as Jane, but she has no interest in that.
