One year after its pilgrimage to Rome, the team of president Karl Olive and general manager Jacques Vendroux is organizing an extraordinary match at the Léo Lagrange stadium in Poissy, on Sunday May 5 at 3 p.m. The National Selection of priests in the colors of Holy Games will face the Variétés Club de France.

In a meeting with interreligious overtones, the Variétés Club de France team will be reinforced by the presence of Monseigneur Emmanuel Gobilliard, Bishop of Digne and representative of the Pope for the Games, Haïm Korsia, Chief Rabbi of France, Mohamed Ahsaini, Imam of the mosque of Ivry and Amos Ngoua Mouri, pastor of the Protestant church of Clamart. The match will be refereed by Mgr Lebrun, bishop of Rouen and former professional referee.

The National Selection of Priests will be made up of 23 players including former professionals. The team coached by Father Bertrand Cherrier, formerly of the Girondins de Bordeaux, will welcome within it the Anglican pastor Jean-Luc Sergent, spiritual guide of Olivier Giroud. As a reminder, Holy Games is the mobilization of the Catholic Church to support the world of sport and major sporting events.
