the need for places for victims of violence

Violence against women is the main cause of the quinquennium. However, associations still point out a lack of means. Donations are more than necessary to help vulnerable women.

Gender equality is worked in different ways. In November 2017, the cause was proclaimed "great cause of the quinquennium" by Emmanuel Macron. A series of measures ensued: online reporting platform for gender-based and sexual violence launched in October 2018, communication campaign worth 4 million euros … In August 2018, a law established the offense of sexist contempt, to fight against sexist harassment in the street and transport.
The importance of education to allow real access to gender equality is increasingly emphasized by the different actors. Structures have been created to mobilize in the street, like the collective Nous Tous, born in July 2018.
However, the means are still sorely lacking.
The year 2019 was marked by the mobilization of the media around feminicides, namely the murder of one or more women or girls because of their gender, and which aufeminin has strongly denounced on numerous occasions. The number of acts of violence against women has not decreased, and the places to receive them are too few.
The reason for this lack? Lack of money allocated for this emergency. As early as 2016, the Women's Foundation published the report “Where is the money for women's rights? An alarm bell ”.
However, structures between public and private exist and demonstrate their effectiveness in providing innovative and effective care for women. This is the case of the Maison des femmes de Saint-Denis.

Every donation counts for this fight

A unique place between the hospital and the city, this care space supports women who are victims of violence on the medical, but also psychological level, and is the only structure to work simultaneously in the fields of care, prevention and training. Created in 2016 by gynecologist Ghada Hatem, the Maison des Femmes welcomes women from all walks of life and from all walks of life every day.
Such a structure is essential in order to allow comprehensive support for victims of violence. Thus, the House is always full, and similar structures have been created. In Bordeaux and Tournus, Houses welcome women victims of violence to take them on support courses. However, this remains far too insufficient in France in view of the figures for violence committed against women. For this, the Maison des Femmes launched a donation campaign aimed at funding the expansion of their accommodation capacity, in order to be able to support women victims of violence not yet taken care of.
This requires the extension, sustainability and multiplication of the model on French territory. Each donation counts to fight as concretely and directly as possible against violence against women.
