The neobank Bunq acquires the Belgian application Tricount


May 3 (Reuters) – Dutch neo-bank Bunq announced on Tuesday the acquisition of the Belgian app Tricount, which allows you to share expenses with friends, as part of its growth strategy in Europe.

Thanks to this operation, Bunq should gain more than 5.4 million registered users on the application, used in France, Spain, Germany, Belgium and Italy, the company said in a press release.

Bunq, founded in 2012 by entrepreneur Ali Niknam, raised 193 million euros last year, valuing the company at around 1.6 billion euros. (Report by Anait Miridzhanian, edited by Jean-Michel Bélot)
