The new Bose headphones clip onto your ears with their… surprising design

Bose presented its new Ultra Open Earbuds, in collaboration with the Kith brand.

A few days ago, Huawei marketed its new FreeClip headphones, featuring unique ergonomics, like an ear jewel. A lifestyle partnership which constitutes a first for Bose.

Fashionable headphones also from Bose

At the start of 2021, Bose formalized its Sport Open Earbuds, headphones which were then based on a more airy, more open architecture than traditional earphones. At the start of 2024, the brand is doing it again, with a new concept, and Ultra Opens which will catch your ear.

No active noise reduction system here, and audio spatialization provided by the in-house OpenAudio technology, which already equips other Bose brand headphones. The technical details remain very vague for the moment, the brand preferring to focus on the partnership with Kith, and this very atypical design.

The “jewel” side above all?

In fact, the Ultra Open attaches to the side of the user’s ears, instead of a small hook on/in the ear. According to Bose, this makes these headphones an authentic fashion accessory, which explains the collaboration with Kith.

For Bose, you can wear the Ultra Open for a whole day, since due to their design, they never force the user to choose between listening to their environment and that of their favorite audio content.

Note that the Bose logo has been replaced by a Kith logo in the same lettering style, both on the headphones and on the supplied charging case.

Price and availability

These new Kith for Bose Ultra Open headphones will be available for $300, starting this Monday, January 22.
