The new cinema channel of the Canal + package arrives in February

Is it the agreement signed recently with the French film industry that boosts the confidence of Canal +? The encrypted channel announced in early December the arrival of a new channel in its bouquet, and we now know that this landing is scheduled for next February. Canal + Big Screen will host 400 to 600 films per year, both on the shelf and on demand, and will be offered from the first level of subscription. The ambition of Maxime Saada’s teams is to bring together under a single banner the “films which you think you must have seen in a lifetime”. No details for the moment on the programming side, but we expect the best of international cinema. An editorial line which is also that of another bouquet owned by the Canal + group: Ciné +. Perhaps the beginning of a slow process towards the closure of it, mentioned on the side of the encrypted channel by 2024. In the meantime, it is one more step in the diversification of Canal +, started in September with the launch of its Kids and Docs channels.
